DefiniteSEO Pro troubleshooting guide

Fixes for the most common issues, from missing modules to stalled background jobs.

Plan: All Pro plans

A module is missing from the menu

A module needs both a qualifying plan and its dashboard card switched on.

  1. Confirm your license shows as valid.
  2. Confirm your plan includes the feature (see
    plans and licensing).
  3. Go to DefiniteSEO > Dashboard and switch the module's card on.

Credits ran out mid-run

If a run stops because AI credits are exhausted:

  1. Look for the credit-shortfall alert email or the admin notice.
  2. Top up your credits, or switch the AI SEO Agent to the Conservative profile to keep running
    free mechanical fixes.
  3. Re-run the operation. Work already completed is saved; you continue from where it stopped.

Tip: Set a daily credit cap so a run pauses predictably instead of consuming everything at
once.

Background jobs are not progressing

Sweeps and bulk jobs rely on WordPress cron and background requests.

  1. Make sure the site receives regular traffic, or that WordPress cron is running. Very low
    traffic sites can delay cron.
  2. Confirm the module's dashboard card is still on. Turning a card off pauses its automation.
  3. For internal linking and image sweeps, use the manual controls (for example Process one tick,
or Apply inline patches) to advance the queue.
  4. Large sites finish over several runs by design. Check back after a while.

Fixes did not apply as expected

  1. Check whether the target post was in scope. By default only published posts are processed;
turn on "run on unpublished" to include drafts.
  2. Check the protection window in the AI SEO Agent. Recently modified posts may be skipped on
    purpose.
  3. Check per-fixer overrides. A fixer forced off will not run even under an aggressive profile.
  4. Review the Activity log to see exactly what ran and undo anything you want to change.

Pro deactivated itself

Pro depends on the free DefiniteSEO plugin. If you deactivate the free plugin, Pro deactivates
too, because Pro extends the free plugin's screens and settings. Reactivate the free plugin, then
reactivate Pro.
