What it does
Google prefers product listings that include a unique identifier, and rich product results and
Google Shopping often need one. DefiniteSEO Pro adds a product-data tab to WooCommerce where you
enter a GTIN, ISBN, or MPN for each product. The value is saved to the standard WooCommerce
unique-identifier field and included in your product structured data.
Add product identifiers
- Edit a product in WooCommerce.
- In the Product data panel, open the DefiniteSEO tab.
- Enter the identifier your product has in the matching field: GTIN8, GTIN12, GTIN13, GTIN14,
ISBN, or MPN. - Update the product.

Tip: You usually only need one identifier per product. Use the field that matches the code
printed on the product or its packaging.

Limits and good to know
- Plan: Available on all Pro plans with WooCommerce active.
- Storage: The value is saved to the standard WooCommerce unique-identifier field, so it works
with other tools that read it. - Structured data: The identifier is included in your product schema output.
- Hidden products: Products hidden from the catalog can be set to noindex so they do not
compete in search.
FAQ
What is a GTIN and does my product need one?
A GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) is the barcode number that uniquely identifies a product, such
as a UPC or EAN. Google favors listings with a unique identifier, so adding a GTIN helps your
products qualify for rich results and Shopping.
What if my product does not have a GTIN?
Use the MPN (Manufacturer Part Number) field instead. MPN is the right identifier for products
that do not carry a GTIN, such as custom or handmade items.
Where is the identifier saved?
It is saved to the standard WooCommerce unique-identifier field on the product, so it is
compatible with WooCommerce and other tools, and it is included in your product structured data.
Do I need to fill in every field?
No. Enter only the identifier your product actually has, usually just one. The plugin detects the
type from the value you enter.
